Agaléga : PM Jugnauth inaugurated New Administrative Block and visited the South of the Island

A New Administrative Block, that is the ‘Centre Polyvalent Sainte Rita’, was officially opened by the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, during his visit to the South Island of Agaléga.

The commemorative plaque of the Centre Polyvalent Sainte Rita was jointly unveiled by the Prime Minister and the High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Mauritius, Mrs K. Nandini Singla.

It is noteworthy that this infrastructural project will accommodate an administrative office, a shop and a community centre, that will benefit Agaleans, especially the inhabitants of the South Island.

Following the inauguration ceremony, the Assistant Resident Manager of Agaléga, Mr Steeve Clarisse, invited Prime Minister Jugnauth, the Indian High Commissioner, Mrs K. Nandini Singla, and a Ministerial delegation, to visit a memorial as well as historical places in the South Island. These include the Church Sainte Rita, the wreck of the steamboat Wajao and an old mill.
