MCCI holds Business and Policy Dialogue with various Ministers

The Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) organised a High-Level Business and Policy Dialogue, today, with various Ministers, in line with its fundamental mission to strengthen public-private dialogue for the benefit of the country’s economic development, at the Le Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel in Port-Louis.
Members of Government in attendance were namely: the Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning, Dr (Mrs) Jyoti Jeetun; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Dhananjay Ramful; the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Protection, Mr John Michaël Tzoun Sao Yeung Sik Yuen; the Minister of Industry, SME and Cooperatives, Mr Sayed Muhammad Aadil Ameer Meea; and the Junior Minister of Finance, Mr Dhaneshwar Damry.
The Business and Policy dialogue was chaired by the President of the MCCI, Mr Charles Harel, in presence of other representatives of the institution.
Discussions during the event focused on key topics pertaining to the economic situation of the country, addressed essential economic and diplomatic orientations, and highlighted the instrumental role of the different Ministries in the steering of the economy.
The implementation of the “Impact Regulatory Assessment Framework”, improving both the environment and cost of doing business, strengthening human capital as essential pillars of future growth, were at the forefront of discussions.
The event served to highlight the key role of the MCCI in supporting the Government in achieving national priorities while underpinning the need to reinforce collaboration to concretise the common aspirations of building a prosperous, sustainable and inclusive Mauritius.
