A reception marking the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was hosted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Mauritius, Mr Fayez Meshel Altemyat, on 26 September 2025, at the InterContinental Resort Mauritius, Balaclava.
The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Dharam Gokhool; the Prime Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam; the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Paul Raymond Bérenger graced the event.
Ministers, Junior Ministers, Members of the Diplomatic Corps and other personalities, were also present on the occasion.
In his keynote address, Ambassador Fayez Meshel Altemyat highlighted that the 95th National Day symbolises the enduring unity and cohesion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under one banner, and is an opportune time to reflect on its remarkable journey.
As regards Saudi-Mauritian relations, the Ambassador emphasised that they stand as a testament to mutual respect, constructive cooperation and shared aspirations. We value the continued efforts to expand our partnership across multiple sectors, enhancing opportunities for progress and prosperity for both Nations, he stated.
Saudi Arabia he said, is presently undergoing an unprecedented transformation, driven by Vision 2030, during which it is blending its rich cultural and historical heritage with a forward-looking vision for the future.
Besides, the Ambassador elaborated on Saudi Arabia’s commitment to promoting peace and stability, regionally and globally, recalling that its foreign policy is grounded in the principles of mutual respect, peaceful conflict resolution and adherence to international law.
