Newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Mauritius pays courtesy call on PM

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Mauritius, Mr Peter Huyghebaert, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, today, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.

In a statement after the meeting, he highlighted that key areas of cooperation in the field of waste management, construction, maritime security, and renewable energy were discussed. He said that both countries can cooperate in the economic sector adding that Belgium can provide expertise in several fields so that both countries can benefit from a win-win partnership.

Furthermore, he underlined that discussions revolved around the collaboration of Mauritius and Belgium on the international front. He recalled that both countries share the same values and principles and collaborate in several sectors.

Mr Peter Huyghebaert had presented his diplomatic credentials to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, yesterday, at the State House in Réduit. This morning, he paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Alan Ganoo, at the seat of his Ministry in Port Louis.
