Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs calls on PM Jugnauth

The Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs, Mr Yuxi Liu, paid a courtesy call, today, on the Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications, Minister for Rodrigues, Outer Islands and Territorial Integrity, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, at the New Treasury Building, in Port Louis.

In a statement, the Special Representative underpinned that during the meeting, cooperation in the political, international and economic spheres between Mauritius and China were reviewed. “Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation and the fruits borne out of the collaboration,” he said.

According to Mr Liu, the Republic of Mauritius and the People’s Republic of China intend to strengthen and further develop the existing cooperation. He pointed out that it is expected that more Mauritian products will be exported to China.

Stating his pleasure of coming back to Mauritius, which he deemed a brotherly country to the People’s Republic of China, he affirmed that an increasing number of Chinese people will be visiting Mauritius to enjoy its beautiful sceneries and beaches.
