Mauritius obtains additional visas for Hadj Pilgrimage 2023, announces Minister Teeluck

Mauritius obtained 150 visas for Hadj pilgrimage 2023 following the intervention of the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Mauritius to the United Arab Emirates, Mr Showkutally Soodhun, in addition to the 1,500 visas already granted.

The Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Mr Avinash Teeluck, made this announcement, at the seat of his Ministry in Port Louis on Friday 20 May 2023.

The Minister highlighted that the basic package for the Hadj pilgrimage, which includes, amongst others, accommodation, has been reviewed to around Rs 231 000 for year 2023. Special services fees, qurbani fees, as well as fees paid to operators have been decreased, he stated.

Moreover, the Arts Minister pointed out that a first batch of pilgrims will depart as from 11 June 2023. He also seized the opportunity to wish the hadjis a pious pilgrimage.
