Our Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth had a discussion with Ambassador Showkutally Soodhun to negotiate if Saudi Arabia can be of any help to Mauritius.

Finally, Ambassador Showkutally Soodhun G.C.S.K had a fruitful meeting with the CEO of Saudi Fund for Development His Excellency Sultan Al Marshad and President Mr. Ahmad al khatib.

The latter did not remain indifferent to the issue and engaged in conversations with many organizations, even countries such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Badea.

In no time, a Saudi delegation will be in Mauritius for an investigation so that the project can be launched quickly.

Ambassador Showkutally Soodhun G.C.S.K also confirmed that when he was Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Lands and Housing in 2018, a loan of 1 billion was granted by Prince Salman for the construction of NHDC with 5 years moratorium and the conditions were amazing.
However, the granted amount was not used because the appropriate place for the construction was not fixed.

Ambassador Showkutally Soodhun again asked to reassess the loan for the construction of another 1000 NHDCs.
