Prime Minister chairs project monitoring meeting to review infrastructural works

Land and drainage as well as road development projects which have been completed and those in the pipeline for financial year 2023/2024 were reviewed during a project monitoring meeting chaired, today, by the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, at the District Council of Moka in Quartier Militaire.

The Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development, Mr Mahendranuth Sharma Hurreeram, the Member of Parliament, Mr Yogida Sawmynaden, and the Private Parliamentary Secretary, Mr Nand Prakash Ramchurrun, were also present at the meeting.

Representatives of the District Council of Moka, the National Development Unit, the Road Development Authority and the Land Drainage Authority elaborated on the different completed, ongoing and upcoming projects in the region.

The aim of the meeting was to take stock of completed and future projects so as to as to improve the lives of residents. Various upcoming drainage projects, resurfacing works as well as upgrading of football grounds and road realignment were discussed.

In a statement, Prime Minister Jugnauth spoke of the importance of bringing together different key stakeholders to addressing bottlenecks impeding several projects implementation. The Prime Minister indicated that the meeting served as a platform for follow-up with Councillors while adding that many projects have been carried out with the view to enhancing the lives of inhabitants.
